WINDOW REPAIRS & REFURBISHMENT

I specialise in bringing your existing sash windows back to life through wooden window repair and refurbishment, and it is usually much more economical to have your windows repaired than to have new ones made.

There are common issues that people have with their old wooden windows including things like rotten sills and snapped sash cords - for more examples please see the COMMON WINDOW ISSUES page. However below is a list of things I can offer in order to make your windows not only look beautiful but to also make them fully operational and fitted perfectly.

Please note that sometimes a window is too rotten or damaged to be repaired and therefore I would recommend a new timber window is made in order to seamlessly replace it - please see NEW SASH WINDOWS for more information.

EXAMPLES OF REPAIRS & REFURBISHMENT

• Glass replacement - for damaged or broken panes

• Changing glass from single to double glazing (see DOUBLE GLAZING for more details)

• Re-cording - replacing snapped/damaged sash cords

• Re-weighting sash windows, to stop them falling down

• Adding draught proofing

• Replacing ironmongery e.g. broken handles and latches

• Removal of any rotten parts of a sash window and replaced with new timber to seamlessly replace​
